Sony shipped only 15m PSP games in the Dec quarter which is well below historical attach rates. Suggests they stuffed the channel with PSP a bit as PS2/DS/PS3/Wii came in around their historical attach rates + a little extra as you would expect.

PSP, the attach rate was ~4.25 over a long period and its more like 3 PSP games/PSP worldwide for the Dec quarter.

I put all the evidence there. From April 2006 to December 2008 Sony shipped 149m PSP games worldwide against 35m PSP portables. But in the Dec 2008 quarter it was 15m games and 5.08m PSPs. To me thats a bit of an overstuffing.

VGC could be a bit low regardless.

As for DS...I haven't seen them since the middle of 2007 (granted not in stores much). DS sales keep increasing so its hard to believe there are a ton of them on shelves. PSP is much steadier and easier to predict I'd wager for inventory managers.

I don't agree, many people did buy PSP3000 just for its enhanced screen without buying any game for it, at least I know I did.
