So reviewers are no longer looking at the quality of a game, they're simply salesmen trying to tell you which games have the best value for your dollar?

I have never seen someone claim that a hard-cover edition of a book was somehow worse because a paperback verion of it existed, and I have certainly never heard that the French language hardcover of a book was terrible because an english paperback existed and was inexpensively avaliable on Amazon.com.

I've never seen someone take the entire transcript of The Prince, change the title to Machiavelli and You, and try to pass it off as a new book either.

Being that Tecmo has never claimed it was anything except a port, and they're releasing it at a lower price (than most Wii games) how are they trying to pass it off as a new game?

What price are they releasing it at?  I stated above I was assuming $49.99 because I didn't know.

If you want to adjust my analogy to fit that, then we can do that.  Say the old version is the paperback for $2.95, and the new version is an ebook for $30 or whatever.  Some are going to buy the new book for $30 and say it's good.  Others are going to buy the new one and wonder why they just bought a book they've already read or could buy cheaper.

This begins a discussion about who the target audience for reviews is however so I'd rather not continue it too far as to utterly derail the thread from this apparently crappy port that is Rygar for the Wii.
