The DS will probably be at about 65 million by the end of the year. This holiday season it's really the system that will dominate because the Wii will still be suffering from shortages and the 360 still will be out of the price range to be a true mass market system. The PSP with it's redisign could make a push, but I don't think a sales increase for that system would effect the DS much. And then next year when in all liklihood the DS drops to the sweet $100 price tag in the US, and DQIX comes out in Japan, it really could be pumped up to a whole new level. 30 million sales in 2008 isn't out of the question.
In my opinion the only way the DS doesn't become the best selling system of all time is if NIntendo releases it's successor late 2008 or early 2009. Since we haven't heard of it yet that's very unlikely. I'm saying the DS2 (and yes they will stay with the DS brand) comes late 2009 at the earliest.
