Now, seriously, it won't. Even Sega (which was peanuts at the time compared to Sony) could afford one blunder (financially speaking). If anything, it'll walk the path of the Saturn - a black console fitted with an unnecessarily complicated architecture that eventually underperformed compared to its predecessors even though it delivered some unique games.

Wether Sony's next will be the company's Dreamcast-equivalent or not it is too far for anyone here to speculate about.

*footnote: one of the reasons the Dreamcast became a Legend is because it was Sega's final effort; the PS3 won't be Sony's final effort.
