As noted above, Capcom made the Oracle Zelda series on Gameboy. Don't forget that Namco made a Star Fox game for GC and Sega made F-Zero GX.

At the same time, why assume that a third party company is going to make a game if we don't even know that there are plans to make the game? And I say that based on the fact that people keep coming up with these fanarts and claiming they are actual character designs.

 

It's largely based on heavy speculation (damn near confirmations) from IGN stating Factor 5 is working on Kid Icarus.  Their flight engines also lend well to the rumor.   We are not accepting Factor 5 as the developer simply on the basis of this 'fake' imagery alone.
