But look at Call of Duty 3 vs World At War. The first was rushed, and considered mediocre. The other was lauded, even if it lacked the freshness of 4.
So rushed vs polished games can get significantly higher scores.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
