Wrong, Monster Hunter 2 released after Monster Hunter Freedom and the latter sold more. The PSP version have become stronger and stronger in sales not the franchise overall. I do agree with NINTENDO advertising the game in NA and the EU in order to make the franchise big there but we shall see what happens there.

This is true, though MH2 was released just 2 months after MHF. It had a larger opening, but pretty much no legs. It still sold about 60% of what MHF did. For reference, 60% of MHF2G is around 1.7mil.

What FishyJoe said is also true. I'd like to add one more: The best selling 3rd party game on a Nintendo console since DQ6 (end of 95, 13 years ago) is DQ Monsters: Joker on the DS, with 1.5mil. On Nintendo's home consoles, a third party hasn't broke 1mil since Derby Stallion 96. Keep this in mind!
