It was based on personal experience, talking about family (childen basically as older adults don't enjoy videogames for more than 15 minutes) and friends. None of them is really impressed by the Wii, neither I am. Not everybody thinks the Wii is fantastic outside Nintendo forums. |
Anecdotal.
Are these people buying games? The average Wii owner is buying just as many games as the PS360 crowd.
Also, are they playing the Wii? Have you looked at the average hours put down on Animal Crossing Wii?
From this link:
Animal Crossing: City Folk (Released November 2008)
Current Rank: #9 Last Month’s Rank: #14
Raw data for “Animal Crossing: City Folk” usage
Average time played per player:
As of 1/1: 24 hours, 59 minutes (up 577 minutes)
As of 12/1: 15 hours, 22 minutes
Average number of sessions per player:
As of 1/1: 9.91 sessions (up 4.61 sessions )
As of 12/1: 5.3 sessions
Yeah, an average of 10 extra hours in Dec alone, seems like they're not enjoying it, huh?
The people around you don't represent the entire world. There are people out there who are disastified with the PS3/360, too. I can say the same thing - not everybody thinks the PS360 is fantastic outside of internet forums.
OT: I think this assumption is silly. The core buying GTA is more "loyal" than the Wii users? I'd like to see some proof of that. If anything, the Wii being the family system will keep it chugging along. The PS3/360 are more for the guys, usually means the mom/wife aren't playing it - and often the guys need their approval.
