yea, the minimum price this year is 3m for 30 seconds. It is getting ridiculous the advertising prices for the Superbowl.

It is very expensive to run those adds, however I can't say it is ridiculous.   If you think about it, near 100million Americans watch the thing not counting other countries.  So it can get your product out there and it can sale a lot of merchandise.

last year the average price of a 30sec comercial was $2.7m. This year (with a recession) the minimum is $3m, which is $300k higher than the AVERAGE price of last year.

Granted I know it gets out to a lot of people, but that is still a lot of money considering people are spending less. Heck superbowl tickets are cheaper this year (scalped) than last year by ~$500.

If I am not mistaken, the amount of money the NFL charges is based off of how many people watched the previous year.   And last years edition was the most watched ever.  So of course they will get more $ out of it.

If this years Super Bowl underperforms then you will see next years add rates drop dramatically.  It isn't based off of us being in a recession or not.
