As to your Bible references. It is stated that before Earth there was nothingness and god. Where is he to put Earth then? Also, it would have noted the fact that it's NOT empty place, it's full of objects such as stars, and asteroids, etc.
As to the blood one, they noticed that people who lose too much blood die. Go figure... That's also the EXACT reason why people were beld up until 120 years ago. They thought they were removing the "impurities" out of the lifeblood.
As to the circle, people believe earth was a disc, or exactly that, a circle. Earth is not a circle, it's a sphere.
