You have to realize that you can replace SONY and KZ2 with any of the three companies and game on their console about to be released or was released. It was the same for GTA4, Halo 3, Gears 2, Mario Galaxy, etc.

 

 

No.... I really can't. The only other game that had this kind of hype surrounding it was MGS4, and even that pales in comaprison to KZ2.

If I remember correctly Gear's hype came with the chant "Chain Saw, Chain Saw"

Gears 2 was dubbed the return of the chainsaw

Zelda:TP was declared better than OoT.

Halo was somehow hailed as the best shooter in existance.

I could go on.

I'm sorry but if you haven;t noticed any of this than I think you dont understand what hype is.

 

That might all be true (I never heard the TP one), but none of those games were hyped to be the second coming of Christ. (Third, rather. LPB was the second coming.)

Some fanboys truly believe that Killzone will end the 360. Visit n4g.com and you'll see what I'm talking about.

 

I've seen no official word of TP being declaired better then OoT, overall score of TP for most sites, and even the director himself have said he still wants to top OoT.  And I can't think of a single person that has said TP is better then OoT, so I'm guessing this is getting pulled out of the air and fabricated, and just trying to point the finger at other groups of fans.

Halo wasn't so much the fan as the marketing.

Gears 2 has gotten a lot of hype but that was after Gears 1 proved itself and lived up to the marketing.

And as chasmatic says there's gamers that truly see Killzone 2 as something that will change gaming and help Sony beat MS and Nintendo.
