That is not a question of willingness, that is a problem of how much you are willing to deviate from your business plan. Sony's own numbers for next fiscal year has just been adjusted to:
10 mio PS3
15 mio PSP
8 mio PS2
so their business plan is set for manufacturing 10 mio units (given the way world economy is heading, that's a pretty bold plan to sell the same number of units and pretty much iimplies a considerable price drop sometimes this year to achieve these numbers).

That's the prediction for the end of this fiscal years(ending march).
28 millions at the end of this years. I simply don't see them cutting the price this years.

i simply dont see how they wont cut the prices this year. there hasnt been a price drop since 2007 and they are real close to making a profit. you think they are just gonna sit back and let microsoft keep on gaining? maybe they will hold on till the summer and by then the 360 might be 9 million ahead and then cut the price.
