| sharky said: I dont understand, if this is true how can 360 have 3.4 million in "others" according to vgcharts?
I know 360 has, maybe a million sold in UK. If germ is 253k, lets be kind and give 250k for each of the other bigs, spain, france, and italy. Then lets allow, 300k for the rest of Europe..even all these estimates seem kind of high, I would assume Germany is pretty much the 2nd biggest market in Europe.
That puts 360 at 2.3 million in EU. Not as bad as I thought, but a lot lower than Vgcharts. ioi?
I guess "others" might include, hong kong, korea, etc. But Really I wouldn't expect all those together are more than a few tens of thousand.
Oh, I guess Australia is probably good for a couple hundred k. That still leaves 360 "others" at 2.5, though. |
Yes thats one odd thing .I tried to get a response by Ioi but he sticked to the "we have our sources " and everything keeps the same .I think they initially used the Uk x 2.5 to measure the european sales .That works usually ,but not in this case as the UK and continental sales are so different from each other .You are too generous giving Spain 250K even ,it is around half that right now .And Germany data usually includes Swizterland and Austria as german--speaker countries .There are other countries but having 1 million in UK ,120K in Spain ,253 K in German countries ,say 250K in France and another 200K in Italy it arrives to 1.8 million .There are more countries there as Holland ,Belgium ,Portugal ,Greece ,Sweden ,Norway,Denmark ,but all of those are way smaller .The union of the Benelux (Holland ,Belgium ,Luxembourg ) and Scandinavia (Finland,Denmark ,Sweden ,Norway ) are two middle sized markets and Portugal and Greece are just plain small .I would give Benelux 150K and Scandinavia 125000 ,the others no more than 30-40K consoles each .Total ,around 2.2 million sold .Add to that Australia 250 K consoles sold and you have 2.45 million .Sure you have the south africa market,United Arab Emirates,India and some others but that cant fill a nearly 1.5 million gap .I think they just dont want to "adjust " the frontpage in big numbers even in front of this evidency because of the possible backlash ....anyone remember Monty ?
