OMFG. This is just as bad as the other two.
1. I can't really agree, unless the comparision is N64 and GC instead of current gen competitors. The biggest difference in marketing is the product being marketed. While PS360 ads are good in the sense that they generally reach their target audience, what really would be bad to show light ads with "shiny happy people" playing Gears and Resistance.
2. Yes. The only way to sell a product is to have it available. Limiting the supply of a device that's been manufactured on a record breaking pace sounds very plausible.
3. Maybe not quite as much as the people from 8 and 16 bit era. That is the most propable group to be the first to jump in.
4. One and half years, not two. And despite 360 being cheapest, Wii keeps outselling it. Pricing is relevant in a way that you shouldn't price your product out of the reach of your customer.
5. Except that "Playstation" have been the synonyme to games consoles for a decade. Just like "Nintendo" was two decades ago. All you hear is Playstation when people are talking about games. Even the handhelds are PSP:s for some reason.
6. Well this is harder to argue, except that the mascots didn't sell even 22M Gamecubes last gen.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
