PS3 has White Knight Chronicles (as far as I'm concerned, it is part of the current line-up) and Valkyria Chronicles for jRPGs I really like. Xbox 360 has Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia. This coming year, PS3 is getting FF 13 and Xbox 360 is getting SO4. As a Japanese / jRPG game fan, this is why I like HD consoles. At the latest, I will get a Wii when DQ10 comes around. If something that is extremely compelling comes before that on Wii, I will re-buy it. I'll consider reviews by actual jRPG fans before looking at metacritic.

MGS4 is also there and that is definitely a high quality Japanese game, even if more Westerner's like it. But, many Westerners don't like the amount it focuses on story, so it's not quite in the same league of popularity as Gears, Halo, and GTA outside Japan.

Let's not forget that PSP and DS are going to be the main systems for jRPGs for quite a while as the portable market is much more important than the home console market in Japan.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
