| CAL4M1TY said: I own and dislike the Wii because of a lack of quality in its titles. This in turn caused many people to upgrade games like NMH and De Blob from being average/good games to being excellent games. Heck, I tried De Blob because of recommendations from this board, and whilst it's a fun little game with a nice premise, the controls aren't precise consistently enough for me to enough the game or vouch for a wiimote over the analogue sticks. The only game thus far that's convinced me that motion controls are the future is MP3. One single game. Also, I'm a JRPG fan and the PS2 has more to offer me in the last 2 years than the Wii has. Even Persona 4 alone is better than all the Wii JRPG's thus far COMBINED. My only hope for the Wii this year is the new FF game and Fragile (in terms of JRPG's). |
The difficulty of de Blob's controls have nothing to do with the motion controls. It's the design of Blob's jump and the movement of the camera that makes it slightly tricky. After all you only shake the wiimote, it doesn't even have a system of directional mapping. I love the game. The only thing I'd change would be the save system. You have to play a level right through to save and with my addiction to colouring and the challenges it can take well over an hour to finish a level.
As far as 'motion controls' in MP3, there's not many of them in the game. If you mean IR then there's a load of other games that have applied it really well, like Okami, Call of Duty: World at War, Pro Evolution 2008 and the like. So far motion controls are good in Wii Sports, Tiger Woods, Godfather, Boom Blox and a few more. Even Galaxy was enjoyable with the spin attack mapped to waggle.
@General comments: Anyone that says there are no good Wii games is a close-minded idiot. I don't want a PS3 or 360, but there's a lot of games I'd like to play. I just haven't got enough cash or time to own more than a DS and Wii.
