I agree with the usual suspects that it's a big shame that Resident Evil isn't what it used to be.

I'm (re)playing through RE0 right now and will replay REmake after that (must be at least the 5th time for REmake and 3rd for Zero) as a preparation for RE5.

Don't know if I'll play through 4 again. Just can't be really bothered.

Most of all I miss the incredible level designs. No insane big fields (or a castle that's 20x its size inside), just a mansion. I love the smallness of the whole game, it will probably take you only 10 minutes to walk from the entrance of the mansion to the end, but the design of the place and the puzzles make it an incredible experience where you really feel lost in something that could be real.

RE4 and 5 totally miss this. I also feel sad about the amount of weapons you can carry. It misses the point of survival. Just a few spots really adds to the game. Especially in Zero, where you have to leave your items.

And obviously the amount of herbs and ammo kill the gameplay. I don't think I died more than 20 times in RE4, while in REmake it's definitely around 100.

I hope Fatal Frame 4 will deliver. Maybe Cursed Mountain. But I would absolutely love a new oldschool RE or Silent Hill.
