Raven Blade was the title and no, I don't think it would have sucked at all. They got canned because Metroid Prime needed the resources. MP was actually coming along very poorly because the 60 man studio couldn't put enough people on the project.
Miyamoto (yeah, him) decided the project needed the whole focus of the studio so the other titles were dropped.
MP was considered of very poor quality in the early builds until the studio put everyone on it which as we now know was a fantastic move because MP eventually became absolutely brilliant.
