The interesting thing is that most of the claims people mention are the lowered projections Sony made after E3; their E3 claims and (in particular) the claims they made to movie distributors to gain support for Blu-Ray were far higher. This could be wrong but I was told by a friend who is in a position where he might know that through the second half of 2005 Sony was stating that10 Million PS3 systems would be sold in 2006 to gain support from movie studios for Blu-Ray.
