only your point 1 makes sence, sony should cut price when manufacturing of an entry level machine is lowered. they should keep the £299 model and add extra value to it like backwards compat and extra pad, it will keep selling.
its a just an entry price they need thats all
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
