Of course you have to consider that because the 360 has sold more units, more than likely you'll get more responses to buy a 360.
LOL - It would also mean those same people are satisfied with their purchase despite the RRoD issue !! 1) implies XBOX360 + RRoD still > PS3 2) if RRoD is really gone as said then XBOX 360 >> PS3
I would say the PS3. Hardwarewise it's the more reliable (agreed). Softwarewise it's really boils down to the exclusives (and the inferior version syndrome....). Aside from 3rd parties, something about SONY's 1st and 2nd party efforts seem to be more creative (my subjectivity clearly indicates otherwise, and i checked twice You will get quality hardware, quality software, solid online features, flexability, and perks that will make you feel very secure with your purchase (i also think the PS3 is a very good console, choosing it isn t a mistake)
A few things that also have to be taken into account. The overall tendency of these past two years (and not only the recent months) is in favour of the 360. Sony has been losing exclusivities consistently, and is cutting on the investment budget ever since last year s fiscal result. MS is not only sharing those third party exclusivities but gaining new ones, and wants much more. In the end, it comes down to this : There is this Playstation feeling that is so lovable and that you won t get elsewhere - GT5, God of War, MGS, etc. But if you are ready to give that feeling up and gain a new one, then go 360. Not only you will have the best of multi-plat games but you will gain access to heavy new franchises in every gaming genre. Also, playing online is more than highly recommended. I can understand how some people won t pay 50 bucks a year for it but LIVE is exactly what makes want a 360 more than a PS3. I love that Playstation feeling, and i'll miss it, but I prefer the LIVE one. On Live you get - people who do talk (PSN is so much more silent :-/ ) The most unforgettable experiences I had playing on the 360 (at my friends house - who owns both PS3 and 360) were due to LIVE features and its community. If the 360 sells so well in the english speaking world it's obviously 'cause LIVE makes all the difference. Anyway, as said before. Both consoles are good enough. Be impulsive or think it through, you won't get disappointed by either choice.

. They are willing to try something new/different that really doesn't seem to primarily focus on the casual gamer (???). They have hidden games like Folklore & Siren (???). Their online efforts are great with the help of online only titles such as Warhawk and SOCOM (your multi-player online games, not counting those single player games that also have offlline and online multiplayer options. (LIVE does that much better) And they also seem to be pushing genres with games such as Resistance 1 & 2, Little Big Planet, Ratchet & Clank Future, & Uncharted (LOL ?). The neat thing about being online with the PS3 is that it's free (100% agreed). If you need to buy a wireless headset, just pick out whatever Bluetooth headset you want because it also works with your cellphone (same thing here). And upgrading is very user-friendly and relatively inexpensive. Because unlike SONY's past history, the PS3 is not very proprietary (true, but most people just want a console to play). Also, the ability to rent/buy downloadable moves and the watching Blu-ray are bonuses (blu-ray is the only bonus there).
