But in any event, remember that after making the game, the team that made this game was basically chastised for being 'too ambitious' with their project and told they could never make a game like that again. Even if the game had sold 5 million copies, I doubt the Remake/Sequel happy boys at Square would have allowed them to do anything else with it and make the idea into a series. As anything that threatens to compete with Final Fantasy is slowly subdued and stuffed into a back closet until it dies.
I expect these talented game designers will probably jump over to Level-5 or form their own company within a couple years. If not half of the people being forced to just make nothing but Final Fantasy spin-offs on the Square side and all the Enix side....
