In my opinion, Sony is to blame. They haven't supported the genre at all. At least Microsoft has tried its little green moneygrubbing heart out.

Also this is ridiculous.

JRPGs have never sold gangbusters outside of the big 3 (DQ, FF, Pokemon) and sales in general are around what they were last generation.

Agreed. Pokemon has sold gangbusters on the DS and we still have to see how well DQ and FF sell.
