No, it's exactly people like you. The ones who think that they are better and anyone who doesn't have the same beliefs should be pitied. I don't think you realize just how ironic your previous post was. Hate to break it to you but all your beliefs do not apply to us, so please save your pity for someone who actually needs it.

Ha! It's not pity, merely disbelief that someone would choose a dark nothingness after death.

I don't know if you misunderstood me or what, but you seem to still be clinging to a stereotype.

It's not about it being convinient. It just is. I'm not about to paint nice pretty pictures with rainbows and unicrons. The world is flawed, no I'm sorry, it SUCKS. People are assholes and suck and will kill each other. And when I die.... it will be just like before I was born. I see the world and people for what they are, I don't try to avoid the truth (cept after death, we don't know yet), the world is far far from being perfect and that's that.

You are right. The world is far from being perfect, or even good.

But, it doesn't mean people choosing an optimistic afterlife is a bad thing, even if, by your account, it is a lie or false.

But, for many people, they are convinced their faith is true. I know, other people of other faiths are also 'sure', but that's not the point.
Even I will admit it's hard to believe in anything when humans are capable of so much, and there's a good possibility extraterrestrials do exist.

I disagree, whether their faith is true or false, in many situation people choosing an optimistic afterlife is a bad thing because it has connotations attached, connotations which spread ignorance and fucked up thoughts. I disagree because to believe in a optimistic afterlife you have to throw away your logic and wank the faith cock.

But even if you believe it's false, the people who do believe in it don't. And most of the time they do not throw away their education and logic. No. Actually, all of what you are saying is not only subjective, but a stereotype some atheists (as represented in this thread) that people blindly follow faith, and you have to be crazy to sanely believe in anything.

There are exceptions to every rule, of course. Such as a cut off society. But for the majority of people, they don't live in closed communities, they live in towns, cities, and such. Amoung people of different ideals.

I don't know, maybe that's just my american mixing pot idealism.

Oh please, how is it not blind faith when all religions have to go on is words from a preacher (or equivalent) or letters in a book? I believe The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster to be a perfect analogy of a real religion.

While this is true with some religions, this is definetly not the case with christianity. The Historical evidence is there.

Whereas FSM is a clearly made up thing in the veins of scientology. So no, not nearly a perfect analogy.

Thinking there's more proof for christianity than other religions is just being completely ignorant about other religions.
