Sorry, my sense of humor is pretty nonfuctional on this issue. I see sick and dying children everyday and it tears me apart. I see plenty of older folks in the same boat but at least they had some shot at life. It just sucks when kids never even have a chance. We do a lot of somewhat unusual things to try to help them, physically and emotionally. We have people that bring in specially trained dogs for the kids to play with, magicians to do shows, the nurses all wear uniforms with animals or cartoon characters on them to not be so scarey. You can't always reason with a child and just tell them to do something that hurts because it'll be good for them eventually. You use whatever will work. The Wii does - good enough for me. |
Yeah I know that. I htink the most imporatant thing is motivation for PT or OT. I also think that the real time feed back is very helpful for any type of therapy. Since Wii Fit works around balance specifcally it definitely helps.
I think the fact that you can be very active(but don't have to be very active) to play some Wii games is also beneficial it always people to start a game with lower levels of movement but once they really get into to it they can do wider motions. That kind of flexibility is also key.
