I've posted this table before, but if you haven't seen it, it's very relevant here. If Sega seems to be cozying up with Nintendo it's because the Wii has paid off for them. They have actually produced almost exactly the same number of games but all of the big hits have been on the Wii which has to count with them because with lower development costs, these are their big moneymakers.

Weird table. I know the "mega seller" and double platinum but what are those platinum sellers? According to vgchartz there is only Sega superstar tennis on 360 which have sold platinum. What are the other 4?

The Wii has delivered 1 megahit (Mario & Sonic at the Olympics 6.71M), 1 Double Platinum (Sonic and Secret Rings) and 3 Platinum, (House of Dead 2&3*, Sega Superstar Tennis and Sonic Unleashed*), and 3 Gold; the Xbox has produced two Platinum (Sega Superstar Tennis (may go dbl. plat.) Sonic the Hedgehog*), and 3 Gold; on the PS3 there have been 4 Gold, one more possible

The platinum hits don't all show on VG Chartz possibly because of missing (regional) data and not being current. They show from 800K to 940K but I had seen a report supposed to be from Sega that showed the higher figure, although it may have been shipped not sales. I'm trying to relocate the link.

In any case using VGChartz figures House of Dead Wii is at 946K, Sonic Unleased Wii is at 797K but selling 50K a week so they are sure things. The only two I would have any question about is Sonic (Xbox360) and Superstar Tennis (Wii) both at about 800K and selling <10K a week but both will probably make it eventually. But even if the report was wrong and you drop those two, the relative balance would be the same showing their Wii games far outselling their HD games.
