Except the DSi isn't a direct replacement for the DS Lite, they will keep selling both

 

Im not sure about that, I think the DSi is there to combat piracy as you can't use the R4 chip with it.

That doesn't make any sense...

All new games will be playable on the DSL.

So the hackers/pirates will simply use the DSL, not the DSi. Problem solved for them...
