Dude, you could play Gingerbread man on multiplayer co-op and it would be fun. It's cause the feature is fun, not the game design.
Anyway, I never played R2 co-op, but I must admit, Gears 1 did at least add some nice attention to detail in its multiplayer co-op that might have been emulated in R2, but I'll never know.
