No it makes perfect sense. If the japanese economy is going to have a serious recession for several years it may hit the hd console market significantly, thus making a console with a bigger percentage of the market outside of japan more useful as they might not be able to guarentee that the ps3 (or the 360 lol) will continue selling at current levels for the next few yeard in their domestic market meaning that foreign markets will become increasingly important.
