The media is reporting facts. If you want an opinion, read an editorial.
The main problem is - anyone with a blog can now be a journalist. A person who either earned a journalism degree or a person who has been trained in the field qualifies. Wannabes? Not so much.
Journalists are supposed to be reporting facts about companies and the like. To write a favorable article about a company that isn't truthful is against the code of ethics. It's a strict code that assures readers the facts are there - and they aren't spinning the topic.
Also, bloggers and other wannabes aren't bond to this code. They can do whatever they want and write whatever they choose.
WSJ is a fine newspaper. What personal stake do they have in video games? It's not like video games take out a few full-page ads in their publication. They are reporting news - whether you agree with it or not, it's the facts. Investors and other shareholders trust the newspaper - but a biased gamer thinks it's a turd? LOL ...
Companies have people paid to give them coverage - PR folks, skilled in the art of spin.
This guy? He wants attention and is getting it.
