Sony are doing that to offset losses not to make a global price cut to ensure even more losses. If anyone gets a price cut it will be exclusive to Japan since they are the ones Sony cares about the most.
Definitely no EU price cut this year and very HIGHLY doubtful the US are going to get another one.
