I'm fairly certain both Ps3 and Wii were at 57K end of last year (or 54K, virtually tied at least).

So the Wii has sold ~ 1/5 more than the Ps3 this year (I think).

And as for "The numbers are not impressive" look at it this way.

Norway generated 93 million dollars of revenue. That's slightly above 20 dollars/person.

In the US.

Playstation revenue: 6400 million dollars

(I can't be bugged to find the others right now).

That's slightly above 20 dollars/person.

The Playstation brand alone (which is less than 50% of the market) is equally big pr person as the total in Norway.

So in other words the Norwegian numbers are not impressive. Neither in absolute numbers, nor in revenue per person.

Actually $93 million in total Norwegian game revenue at retail is so bad that I doubt it is even right.

The US had $11 billion in 2008 from console software alone. That's 120 times more than Norway. The US population is about 62 times as big as Norway's.

And to add to that, in Norway stuff costs 50% more than in the US.

The numbers are just insanely low.

There are ~ 1.5 milion homes in Norway.  Claiming that less than 1/5 of those have a current gen console seems odd....

I read a report some days ago, that claimed that 40% of Norwegian kids (10-18) had a Wii, Ps3 or X360 in their home.

I'm not sure how correct that report was, but this number seems incredibly low.
