As you can see Halo 3 got a massive start but will Halo ODST outsell it?
I say yes for the follwing reasons:
Bigger userbase-By the time Halo ODST releases the user base will be about 2.5X that of when Halo 3 launched.
Brand name-The Halo franchize has been a favorite for many xbox and xbox 360 owners.
Price-Halo ODST will be cheaper than $60 (Halo 3 was $60)
New hero-Halo fans wan't something new and that's what Halo ODST will deliver.
The success of Halo 3-Microsoft will spend more money on a campain because they know that they will make up the costs. (Based on how well Halo 3 did)
I, myself probably won't be getting this untill it costs $20 but I expect first week sales to be at least 3 million units.
