Why is Valkyria Chronicles soo GOOD?

Don't judge the game based on the demo. The demo is just a meaningless skirmish battle that doesn't do the game justice. Just get it and reward sega for their best game in years. You won't regret it.

 

Ok but what is it about. Only the battles, do you get to chose where you want to go and stuff? or is like a warcraft 2 campaing and you go level after level following a chain of events??

There is no free-roaming outside the missions. But on a mission map, you are free to go about your goal any way you like, although most of the times there will be only a couple of options for how the mission can be completed. Not that it feels like a limit, the enemy keeps you on your toes and there are some good options for doing what you want inside the battle. But regular free roaming? Nothing.
