Will it maintain 2:1? No.
Will the PS3 ever have a higher install base? No.
Its 8 million units behind and its not outselling the competition. Assuming a price drop, there would have to be INSANE WII-LIKE PS3 NUMBERS and the 360 sales would need to drop like 60% year-over-year in order for it to overcome an 8 million unit gap. Not to mention that with the Arcade, MS still has the cheapest price.
I don't think Sony is dead. I think they will come in last place this gen, but its not gonna be a total blow out.
