hmm, your memory is poor. Lair was supposed to use the 6 axis controls to show the PS3 has better motion controls than the Wii. People would see the PS3 can do the stuff the Wii can but better, and there would be a run on the PS3 instead of the Wii. That was one theory. Many others just hyped it to be a killer ap that would sell PS3's like crazy.
I know those theorys look delusional... but then again most epicly failed theories do. There has been alot of them. (as I am trying to point out but your are ignoring)
Since you obviously dont want to believe what I am saying you should just go back to gawking at LBP's sales along with a few others.

Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
