Better discretion for the particular individual in mind would be in order. Someone who is an honor student with no record of any behavior issues should probably be given the benefit of doubt. Maybe the other girl should have been searched as well. Especially if she already has a behavior history. Now, on the other had if any of my kids were stripped searched without my knowing and being present I would be furious. So, in the end she was a minor and the school is probably overstepping their abilities. Yeah, my last paragraph is where I would stay. If my child was really considered to be a danger that a strip search was in order, I better be notified so I can be present, or my wife for that matter. But, there better be some good damn evidence. |
While you are right the school should protect the students from drugs but it should be a matter of what the drug is ibuprofen is not going to make anyone high or wig-out.
Frankly, ibuprofen shouldn't even be on a school's list of drugs period since like it has been said in this thread, prescription ibup is the same strength of taking two Advil pills.
