IGN is unprofessional. They want a game like Wii Music to fail but will not go after EA for their My Sims Kart or My Sims Party or Ubisoft, with its tons of shovelware. This makes no sense and IGN is becoming a site of insane journalist that hate the fact that they are Irrelevant. The whole hardcore or nothing attitude is not health for the Industry. Why not accept and Welcome casual and Nongamers? Why not offer them a channel on IGN where they can visit and discuss the games they like to play. IGN could also suggest some core games similar to the ones that they enjoy playing. This would be a better service than to spend time trying to make Wii music flop and would help some casuals become core gamers faster.

It's because Wii Music was sort of a "big name" game...for the holidays. It turned out to be somewhere between mediocre and bad, and yet it still selled well. I don't think there are any replacements for Wii Music though... like Rockband/Guitar Hero... so there's no good game of the same type to buy instead. That softens the blow.

im_sneaky,

Your opinion about Wii music being bad is subjective. A lot of people that purchased the game would disagree with you. Also from the very beginning, Nintendo knew that Wii music would not appeal to every one, nor does Rockband or Guitar Hero. Just go check Shigeru Miyamoto's comments about the IGN review.

IGN, just wanted Wii Music to fail because they do not like the success Nintendo is having with the Casual and Non gamer. They want every game Nintendo develops to be a core game. Yet they say Nothing about Ubisoft, Capcom, EA, or any other developer that makes casual games. As I stated before, Where is the campaign to stop the sale of Ubisoft's Z titles.

Furthermore, IGN is going to find their site irrelevant this gen and in the future if they continue to be intolerant to Casuals and Nongamers. What they should do is treat them as regual gamers and try and attract them to their site. There is enough room in the industry to support all types of games and gamers. The PC has been and still is a successful gaming platform because of this. Consoles can be that way too.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
