Even if I had a Wii, I wouldn't buy Wii Music due to its its review scores. I don't like to spend $50.00 on something in order to have the priviledge of trying out for myself. Only if a game is in a genre I like, and music games don't tend to be a genre that I instantly feel compelled to buy games from anyway, rarely do I buy a game that has a review score less than 9. Exceptions are Final Fantasy Tactics IGN gave it an 8.5, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete on PS1 IGN gave it a 7.5 and I never had a Sega CD, so I bought it, and Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix IGN gave it a 6.9 and I bought it used and didn't buy it based on expectations for what the gameplay experience would be but because of the character designs of Hannah and Raine. What do you think accounts for the fact that Nintendo fans are willing to spend $50.00 on such poorly reviewed games other than the fact that they are Nintendo fans? A game I would buy for Wii that hasn't received a review score of 9 overall, and that I would buy much quicker than I would Wii Music is No More Heroes.

IGN is not the end all/be all of reviews. It has already been posted on this thread that Wii Music has a wide range of review scores (thanks Happy Squirrel). Many Wii games are like that because those doing the reviews don't like motion, non-HD graphics, Nintendo in general (been discussed herein ad nasueum). But Wii Music is an extreme case of no general consensus on scores.
Because of the tendency for Nintendo games to get such bad reviews, people often disregard (or look beyond) the score. In this case, Matt's video he posted on IGN really told people he wanted to trash the game. (Any previous positive sentitment toward Wii Music at IGN disappeared when it was featured at E3 rather than the still only IGN-rumored Kid Icarus Wii).
Also, if you are unsure, one thing to do is buy used games at Gamestop. They still have the seven days no questions asked return policy on used games. So you can try before you buy.
