*tilts head* Who are you? Why have I never seen or heard of you before? And why are you generalizing people like me? I do indeed dislike many console FPS games, and you can find me saying as much, but for you to claim some of the things you've said you've clearly never played Call of Duty World at War on the Wii... it IS the best controlling console FPS ever and you can quote me on it... it's the closest thing you'll ever get to PC type controls on a console, thing is it could be debatable which is better due to Mouse and KB being easy and steady, while Wii remote and Nunchuck is great fo quick reflexes and has analog for movement which is better then WASD... Also define your definition of generic FPS so I can compare it to mine, I'm sure it would be quite different... also state why this game looks like a generic FPS.. |
I clearly haven't generalised people like you because you've just proved me absolutely correct. I don't consider the Wii-mote to be better than dual analog or KB+M in a shooter unless it's on rails. Without a fixed reticule it's just unwieldy and loose. Look at the videos, the tester even has trouble keeping the reticule on enemies while turning and the AI is so terrible the enemies barely move. Think what it'd be like in the future with face-paced shooters. It wouldn't work at all.
There really isn't an open interpretation to what generic means. It either is or it isn't. The Conduit is using the same mechanics and premise as shooters have since their inception. It's not doing anything new - that is generic.
