They had a winning formula with Unreal Tournament years ago, but people seemed to forget the greatness that was UT (or got tired of it :P).
Gears 2 is improved in every way except multi player because of the glitches and the time it takes to find multi player matchs. Theres no reason it should take five minutes to find a match.
With that said, there are new achivements and a matchmaking as well as exploit patch due by the end of January.
It's just that simple.
