This. Even with the bug weakness, they were still totally broken in RBY. The only ghost types were also poison types, and so utterly suceptible to the psychic foes, and aside from Twin Needle, there were no remotely powerful bug attacks
Until Gold and Silver, Psychic was the winning hand, hands down.
