I'd say that right now the N64 is my favorite console of all time. A console is defined by its games, and if I was to base my favorites off of how many games for each console is in my top 50 of all time... it would look like this:
1. N64 (12 Games)
2. Wii (10 Games)
3. GCN (8 Games)
4. Genesis (6 Games)
5. DS (4 Games)
But! The Genesis is a bit more influential to me than the other consoles, so it moves up with a tie with the Wii. Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic & Knuckles are just too awesome to be ignored! Rawr!
