A year ago I thought late 2009 was a good call. However, since the 360 dropped price, PS3 sold less this holiday than last, Sony's publically known financial issues and rumors off massive cutbacks, I think the PS3 may never make 2nd place.
IF there is a price reduction it will be after this fiscal year ends (after April 1) and it will definitely not be to a price point that would make the hardware lose money anymore. So, at best your looking at a $50 reduction.
@$350 the PS3 is not going to fly off shelves (nor $300 as you claim). To do that it would require sub-$200 pricing that is not going to happen this year and maybe not even next.
Those of you who believe this are as delusional as those who think the PS3 will live 10+ years and the Earth will end in Dec of 2012.
