Of course it did. Most of those sales are due to PS3. It isn't a sensible comparison given that PS2 (which would count towards DVD sales) did not come out within 3 years of DVD players coming to the market. If you can say Blu Ray hardware sales without PS3 being included are outperforming DVD in its first 3 years then that would be something.
