Yeah right, like releasing their RPGs on PS3 or multiplatform would suddenly make them sell millions over millions. Additional 100-150k from IU and The Last Remnant (and this one will get its PS3 sales later) wouldnt change the whole picture at all.

SE did fine for a year without any mainline FF/DQ/Kh games, they still ranked #5 japanese publisher of the year and that's more than impressive for a year like that.

This year, if there will be no serious delays, they have a shot at selling 10 millions of software in Japan. Something that, if I am not mistaken, has never been done by any 3rd party publisher in the country.

They didn't have any mainline games from those series last year either, but they were able to sell almost two times as much software.  Plus they were only behind Nintendo as far as Publisher rankings.

It's really amazing though how they can keep selling remakes and spin-offs.

Also, why do you say only an extra 100-150k for PS3 versions?  Is that accounting for lower sales on the 360, or do you actually think they'd sell about the same if released at the same time?

It's true they did not. They did, however, have a load of FF spinoffs all of which have obviously performed well. While 2008 was pretty much only about DQV remake and Dissidia.

If TLR would release on both platforms at the same time its 360 version wouldnt get the sales it has now. So overall I believe the sales of the game would be 100-150k higher.
