No one (that I have known of) has tracked this statistic over a long period of time, but I suspect that it would generally start out very high because the most dedicated gamers would buy in early and you would have the smallest ratio of "dead" systems ... Over time you will start to see more and more people who buy games less regularly buy a system, and more "Dead" systems will be replaced (or just not have games bought for them) and you would see a steady decline in the software sold per unit-month ratio
