This despite the gripes for the past 18 months that the console is loaded with shovelware, and the dearth of AAA title for the last 8 months.
Doesn't sound so awful to me.
It would also be more telling to check the actual sales, and not merely the platinum rating. For example, are the Wii platinum titles selling as many copies on average as the PS3 platinums, which would mean its doing slight worse compared to console sales, or are they selling more per title, which could mean the Wii is actually overperforming compared to the PS3. |
Number of Million Sellers: Wii: 41 (39 without Wii Sports and Wii Play) PS3: 24
Units Sold Wii: 179.4 Million (118 Million) PS3: 53.2 Million
Units per Million Seller Wii: 3.38 Million (3.03 Million) PS3: 2.21 Million

Thanks. So in games sold (of the million sellers), the Wii is more than triple the PS3 games sold, well ahead of the user base ratio. I doubt you can blame this on the $10 cost difference, especially since (I'd bet) PS3 owners tend on average to have higher household incomes (simply given the price difference in the consoles).
