This is nonsense: of course exclusives sell systems. As do multiplatform games: e.g, Madden.

I'm not sure what exclusives you're thinking of specifically, but I would guess you have a certain number of exclusives in mind. The fact that these games (whatever they may be) did not move systems doesn't mean that exclusives don't sell systems, it means the games you're talking about didn't.

The best examples this generation are Wii Sports and Wii Fit. Does anyone here honestly believe these games aren't moving systems? Anyone? I'd hope not. On the flipside, there are  games like EA Playground and Game Party which are not selling systems.

This should prove that exclusives can sell systems, but don't necessarily have to. Therefore, if the games you're thinking of aren't selling systems, this simply proves that the games in question aren't system sellers, while other games are.
