Actually most mamals tend to exclusivly eat one or the other even when omnivores unless they are having trouble finding food.

For example a lot of apes that are omnivores... the only meat they eat are the bugs that are incidentally on the fruit and vegetables they eat.

I thought a lot of apes went out of their way to dig up bugs to eat.
